Congo River Giclée Print
Congo River Giclée Print
✨New for the 2026 Spooky Lake Month!✨
These high-quality, beautiful Giclée prints are made locally in Madison, Wisconsin. The texture of the paper and the high-definition scan combined means that this print looks just like my original painting! The paper is soft and beautiful, with the texture of the original watercolor paper I used to make my painting!
Going into a new painting, I’m usually pretty organized. I have a sketch worked out with most of the details already planned, but this painting was different. I originally had a totally different idea for this page, and when it came time to actually paint it, I decided to add the big Goliath tigerfish and ended up making a lot of the background decisions on the fly. I’d add a branch here, a leaf there, and just let the painting develop as I went. It was so nerve-wracking! But once I finished, I loved how it turned out.
And just a note: in reality, you wouldn’t be able to see any of this beneath the Congo River. It would be a sediment-filled darkness down there 👀
The original artwork was gouache on watercolor paper. This edition is Giclée printed on watercolor, 100% cotton rag, acid-free, archival paper.
Paper Note: The artwork itself measures 11" × 14", but due to a printing error, the full paper size is 12.5" x 15.75". A standard pre-cut mat will fit the artwork perfectly, but it will cover the white border and the signature below the image. If you would like the signature to remain visible when framed, you will need a custom-cut mat with a slightly larger opening.
Editioned, titled and signed with the year I painted it (2026)
Your print will be carefully packaged with a backing board in a protective cover, then wrapped inside a rigid mailer to ensure it's protected during shipping. My mom packs all our orders so please be patient and let us know if you have an issues!
